LAWS:
The laws of the game at Soccer Indoors, Lubbock are set forth by the United States Indoor Soccer Association.
IN HOUSE RULES:
In house rules were modified November 1, 2010, by the management of Soccer Indoors, Lubbock. Owners and staff have the power to enforce the laws, rules and guidelines found within this book. This is to be done without prejudice to any player, coach, spectator, or team who is in violation of said laws, rules or guidelines. These rules will be enforced fairly and justly for the safety and enjoyment of all parties of the game.
A bound copy of these rules will be available at all times for review by anyone entering the facility.
Law I: FIELD OF PLAY
Dimensions: Length of the field is 175 ft. Width is 80 ft.
LAW II: BALL USED
SIZE 3 for U-5 and below
SIZE 4 for U6 to U-12
SIZE 5 for U13 to adult
Teams must provide their own balls for warm up. The Game ball will be provided by Soccer Indoors. LAW III: NUMBER OF PLAYERS PER AGE GROUP
U-11 and under: 7 players one of whom is the goalkeeper
U-12 thru adult: 6 players one of whom is the goalkeeper
(If ages are combined (ex: U11-U12) you will play by the laws govering the older age group)
Adult Coed: 7 players (3 men/3 women) one of whom is the goalkeeper
U-12 thru adult division must have a minimum of 4 players to start a game.
U-11 and under division must have a minimum of 5 players to start a game.
Adult Coed division must have 5 players which must be 2 males/2 females and a goalkeeper of either sex.
LAW IV: FORFEITS
If a team does not have enough players to play 5 minutes into a game, it is a forfeit and the referees will leave the field. The players left can scrimmage or practice.
LAW V: PLAYERS EQUIPMENT
Flat soled shoes, turf shoes designed for artificial surfaces, or tennis shoes must be used (NO STUDDED, SCREW-IN CLEATS, LONG MOLDED CLEATS, HIKING SHOES OR BOOTS ALLOWED)
Goalkeepers must wear colors that distinguish them from other players and referees.
All teams must wear EXACT SAME COLOR SHIRT/JERSEYS. If the colors conflict, home team (listed first on master schedule) will be required to supply and change into alternate colored shirts/jerseys or pennies for the game to resume. Teams who cannot supply alternate colors to allow the game to be played will forfeit the game. It is the responsibility of the person who registered the team to ensure each player conforms to this rule and no conflicts arise from it.
LEGAL SHIN GUARDS AND SOCKS COVERING THE SHIN GUARDS ARE REQUIRED.
A player shall not wear anything, which could endanger him/her or any other player. ALL JEWELRY MUST BE REMOVED! If a player is unable to remove the jewelry it must be taped.
NO GUM ON FIELD
Players who have a cast or knee brace must cover them to the satisfaction of the referee in order to play.
LAW VI: REFEREE
U.S. Indoor Soccer Association (U.S.I.S.A.) registered referees will only be allowed to referee at Soccer Indoors. REFEREE AUTHORITY: The authority of the referees and their exercise of the powers granted to them by Soccer Indoors and U.S.I.S.A. commence when they enter the facility. The referees are responsible for the record of the game and control of the timekeeper. LAW VII: OTHER GAME OFFICIALS
There will be a timekeeper/scoreboard operator present. The timekeeper shall assist the referee by operating the official clock and scoreboard. Referees may add or subtract time as deemed appropriate. The timekeeper will keep a record of the game for standings.
LAW VII: DURATION OF THE GAME
There will be an equipment check and the individual presentation of player’s cards before each match. Each player will give their card to the referee as an individual. Coaches must have a coach’s card.
A game shall be played in two halves of 20 minutes each.
The half time interval for all games will be 2 minutes.
The clock shall be stopped for serious injuries or as deemed necessary by the referee.
The clock will also be stopped during the last 2 minutes of the second half of play for any dead ball.
LAW IX: START OF GAME
All games are to be started when the minimum number of players is present, at specified time.
Visiting team will kick off.
Teams will change direction at half and alternate kick offs.
No one except coaches and players are allowed in team boxes.
Ball is in play when it is kicked and moved. It can be played in any direction.
LAW X: BALL IN AND OUT OF PLAY
The ball is out of play when it makes contact with the building superstructure ceiling. ALL NETTING IS OUT OF PLAY. Restart straight down from where ball hit the ceiling. If the ball came from inside goal area, it will be place d nearest to first center mark on the red line. If ball hits side netting, ball will be kicked in at point where it went out. LAW XI: METHOD OF SCORING
A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, between the posts and under the crossbar. Providing it was not thrown, carried, or intentionally propelled by hands or arms of attacking team.
Team with most goals during game shall be the winner.
COED Rules states a shot taken by a female player will count as 2 points. A male player will count as 1. If ball makes contact unintentionally or incidentally, scoring remains the same (Female 2 points, Male 1 point).
TEAM ROSTERS
Team rosters must be completely filled out and turned into Soccer Indoors by the 3rd game. All teams can add players to their roster until the 3rd game. After the 3rd game, captains must delete one player from their roster for the rest of the season to add a new player. All replacement players must be of the same level team is playing in. This can be done a total of 3 times per season. If no roster is on file after the 3rd game the team cannot do an add/delete.
COED RULES
The field consists of 3 male/3 female players and 1 goalkeeper (either sex). A team cannot substitute a female player for a male player or vice versa. Even if a team has more male players they can only play 3 at a time, the same goes for female players. There are no special rules for female players, however; when a female player scores it counts as 2 points, male players count as 1.
SOCCER INDOORS MISCELLANEOUS RULES
NO SLIDE TACKLING: This is to be determined by the referee. The player sliding is clearly within playing distance of any opposing player, which could result in injury.
NO SPITTING ON THE FIELD. A 2 minute penalty for violation will be enforced at all times.
NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED
NO CHEWING GUM: Gum chewing will result in removal from the field. You will be instructed to meet with Mr. Jones, Soccer Indoors owner (possible red card).
Players can play on more than one team as long as they are not in same division and the following guidelines are met:
Upper division players who’s skill level clearly show that he/she belongs in the upper divisions will not be allowed to drop to any division and play for any team which would throw off the level of play.
Management will be the only deciding factor to give permission to add said player to roster.
Players can play in more than one game a night if the games are in different divisions and on team rosters.
Game reschedules only if there was an administrative error. Weather conditions may also cause games to be cancelled.
Soccer Indoors reserves the right to refuse services to anyone at anytime for any reason.
IF A PLAYER(S) OR SPECTATORS(S) HAS BEEN DRINKING OR SUSPECTED OF DRINKING PRIOR TO A MATCH, THE PLAYER(S) AND/OR TEAM WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES IMMEDIATELY.
Goalkeepers will serve their own time for fouls and misconducts that warrant a blue or yellow card.
If the captain/coach of a youth team signs the team up in an age group that is too young for his/her players, for example if you are a U8 team and the coach registers them in U-7) then the team will remain in that age group for the remainder of the season but all games will be forfeits and the team cannot win the division.
GUIDELINES AND POLICIES
League Registration and Fees: Teams are registered on a first come basis. A $50.00 deposit is required for all teams who wish to register. A deposit is non-refundable unless there is no spot or division for a team. Balance of registration fee is due by the 1st game. Any team that has not paid the balance in full by the 1st game will be assessed an additional $25.00 late fee per game not paid. It is the sole responsibility of the person who registered the team to collect team fees. That individual will collect money from players and be the one to turn in team fees. We will not collect from teammates. One person/captain, one receipt.
SPORTSMANSHIP
Individuals are expected to play within the rules of the game. They are to play to the best of their abilities to avoid causing injury to themselves and other persons using the facility. ILLEGAL PLAYERS
Players not on your roster after the 3rd game will be considered illegal and your game will be scored as a forfeit. LEVELS OF COMPETITION
Soccer Indoors reserves the right to make necessary changes within the league to ensure equal level of skill and competition. Soccer Indoors decision on the matter is final. LEAGUE STANDINGS POINT SYSTEM
2 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
League games that end in a tie after regulation will remain a tie. The first team listed at the end of the season is the winner by goal differential. 1st Place prize is either a check or credit of $60.00 for the next season applied to the team fee. Youth teams receive 12 medals and 1 team trophy for 1st place, but can request credit or a check for $60.00 instead.
GAME FORFEIT
A team forfeits the game if the team:
Does not have the minimum players to start.
Has players who are not on the roster
Has players who have already signed up with another team in same division.
Does not maintain the minimum amount of players ON THE FIELD OF Play for the duration of the game. (a player in the penalty box is not considered on the field of play)
If a team is a no show, the winning team can have the field for practice of scrimmage with other players, however referees will not remain on the field.
